Rebecca Prange is a wood and linocut printmaker and an award-winning children’s picture book illustrator.
Becky is the winner of a 2010 Arrowhead Regional Arts Council Arts and Cultural Heritage Individual Artist Fellowship Program. Of the 28 applications, eight artists received fellowships of $5,000 each.
Becky will use the fellowship funds to complete the final illustrations for a children’s counting book written by Phyllis Root, to be published by University of Minnesota Press.
Becky is also a naturalist with a degree in biology and a graduate certificate in natural science illustration. She has exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago; the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators Annual Exhibition, Fort Kent, ME; Northern Printmakers Alliance, Duluth; Bloomington Center for the Arts, Bloomington; and the Duluth Art Institute. Prange has also illustrated two children’s books: Ubiquitous: Celebrating Nature’s Survivors, published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt; and Song of the Water Boatman: Pond Poems, published by Houghton Mifflin.
