Winner of Ely in 2016 Mascot contest
From time to time, Ely Greenstone Public Art sponsors art contests with cash prizes.
One annual contest is held with a different theme each year. Past themes have included “Images of Ely,” “Fantastic Fish” and “Creatures of the Wilderness.”
The 2010 contest awarded $250 cash prizes to winners in six categories:
- Painting/Drawing
- Photography
- Sculpture
- Glass
- Pottery/Ceramics
- Textiles
Other contest have been held to select the mascot for the 2016 Olympics in Ely drive (shown left).
